Tell us an overview about your company: Blake Alexander Cosmetics and its product, Myibrows, was started by me in 2016. I believed that this was a product that was needed, as I have searched the retail market for years hoping somebody would create this product. First, I patented the idea immediately, as I knew it was a great one. Then I began the process of finding the best App builder who would embrace my idea and not slam a door in my face. And, I did just that. Then the process of finding the correct medical grade template material was another time-consuming journey, however, that was also accomplished. As a brow product-user myself, I saw the importance and need of saving time while preparing for my day, and having a lovely eyebrow placed correctly on my face. I built this company on the belief that most people don’t have a lot of time to put their makeup on, as there are people who have to get children ready, prepare for other obligations, and just should not need to spend that much time in front of a mirror. This company belief wants to help with that task. If it will save you 10 or 15 minutes each morning, then that is more valuable time for you to use elsewhere.

What type of services do you offer? The services we offer are currently the free downloading of our Myibrows App, with a one-stop shopping experience. Finding your perfect brow with our “AI” brow capabilities, then ordering your brow template. In addition to that, you can shop in our App Retail Store for your favorite brow products. Our many YouTube videos with our professional makeup artists showing you how to produce the brow you want is just a click away on the App.
How is the “myibrows” app different from your competitors if any? Our Myibrow App is different because we patented the process of finding your brow and actually producing a template from it. The other apps will allow you to place a brow and shade of color on your photo, but it’s really not customized to your particular face and size, plus, the user has to draw it on their face by themselves. We have the patent to provide the custom template to you to place on your face easily, put your cosmetic brow products on, and then peel it off for a clean, perfect brow. This is a time saver, as well.

What are the benefits of using the myibrows app? The benefits of using the Myibrows App is first, you can actually see what the best brow or brows for your face will look like on you based upon your face and measurements. Also, the user can manipulate the brows on their AI photo to see what they would look like with a different thickness or even shape. The user can use multiple brow templates if they choose. Additionally, the Myibrow App will help those with the need to trim and shape their brows also. There are tools and videos that will show the user how to do this without going to the salon, especially at this time with Covid-19 being prevalent. The majority of people will use the same brow template, which will create daily continuity with their brows.
What is the price point for the application? The App itself will be a free download. The user will create a profile and keep all of their template shapes, cosmetics ordered, etc. in their profile. The cost of the eyebrow templates will start in the $30 range with variations of different subscriptions and Brow Points.
Who are your target clients? My target clients are anybody who loves their brows. Women and men who love having beautiful brows will benefit from this product. Also, people who have experienced certain illnesses that cause hair loss will benefit from this product too. Anybody who either has difficulty putting their brows on, or just wants to save time with perfection, will love this product.

What inspired you to design this type of app? This is quite a personal story for me. I was at a point in my life where I was looking at a secondary form of income, such as buying a business, investing in something, etc. I am a full-time real estate agent, and we work strictly on commission. The idea of having another form of income as a single woman was necessary to me. So, I prayed a lot for God to point me in the direction I needed to be in. My entire life, I struggled with my eyebrows. I was blessed with a “wonky” eyebrow that seemed to be a genetic flaw throughout my mother’s side of the family. With one brow being nice, and the other being difficult, I tried everything possible to make my brows look similar. So, in 2016, during my search for a business, I was looking in the mirror doing my brows one day. After working at it for way too long, I said out loud, “God, why can’t anybody create this idea soon? It can’t be that difficult!” And, a loud bell went off in my head and I said, “I’m going to do it!!!! This will be my business.” I felt as though God helped me answer my own questions for a business and an eyebrow solution. So, I wrote down my thoughts, hired a patent attorney to do a patent search, eventually patented it, and here we are today. This has been a 4 ½ year project, with a few interruptions, but nonetheless, we are here!
Designing an app can take an extensive amount of time and planning. How do you manage your team to produce new updates quickly and effectively? This development of this App has been like climbing a mountain. So many doors closed in my face telling me that it was impossible to do, my idea would never work, it will be impossible to measure the face, and was given unbelievably high development quotes. So, I knew that people told Steve Jobs that the iPhone was a crazy idea and he stuck with it; and look at how many there are in the world today. He showed persistence and he believed in his idea. That is exactly what I did, believed in it and did not take “No” for an answer.

Where is this app available and when can we purchase it? This App will be available on the App Store and Google Play Store, as it will be available in iOS and Android. Additionally, the App is FREE.
What keeps you up at night? I have to admit, I am a pretty solid sleeper, so if I am up at night, it is usually worry. I am truly an empath so when people I love are sick, upset, have things happening that turn their world upside down, I can’t help but worry. I try to think of ways that I can help take their pain away. I am a mother and grandmother, so that alone will fill my world with worry. However, if it is me suffering, I am blessed to be surrounded by awesome family and friends who carry me through my heartaches. But, for the most part, I sleep really well.

Places you love in Atlanta or other cities to explore/visit and why? Well, first, I was raised in Buffalo, NY and moved to Atlanta when I was 22 years old. Buffalo has a place in my heart because that is where my most familiarity is with my Italian/Sicilian culture. I love to visit my family, go to the festivals and fabulous cultural restaurants that blanket that city. I also love to ride to the old family neighborhoods where my grandparents lived and where I was raised.
Second, I absolutely love my home city of Atlanta, Georgia. This is where I raised my children and made so many fantastic memories and life-long friends. There are so many favorite places here in Atlanta that I love. I will have to say that my most favorite place to be is right at home on my farm, Blake’s Farm. This is such a place of peace and happiness for me. The second I stepped on this property, I knew it was home. My horses and other animals are an essential part of my daily peace, and I am grateful for it.

Third, I do love a good rodeo, and every year for the past 10 years, I have gone to the Houston Rodeo for a week. Not only spending time with my sister and her family who live there, but the entire rodeo experience is amazing.
Finally, the first time I ever went abroad was in 2018, and that was probably the most amazing trip I ever made. I have a best friend who goes to Paris often, so I tagged along for 3 weeks. Yes, 3 weeks in Paris and it was amazing. I made so many friends and local Parisian experiences that made it the trip of my lifetime at that point in my life. I saw every corner of that beautiful city, drank so much fabulous wine, ate delicious food, met such amazing people and lived for three weeks in the most awesome Parisian apartment. I really did not want to leave. And this girl loves to shop, and what better place to shop but Paris. I actually had to buy another full size suitcase to bring all of my goodies home. It was Amazing.

Three things we should know about you? Three things you should know about me. First, I am a fiercly protective mother and grandmother. My children have always been the center of my universe, and now their babies have a place there too. I am grateful to have been blessed with the gift of motherhood and they are my most prized possessions. Second, I was married and began having my children young, so many things went on the backburner including my education. My lifelong dream was to get a bachelor’s degree, and when the opportunity came to me in 2015, I pursued the degree and graduated proudly in May 2019 from Valdosta State University. I tell people to never give up on their dreams. Thirdly, I am an avid horse person. I not only own and love horses, but I love to ride them. At the moment I have three horses, and each one is a completely different ride. One of them is like jumping on a big comfy couch to take a relaxing stroll, one of them is a fiery and spirited girl who is challenging but such a fun experience, and one is a very refined, English jumper who knows her job but makes you work hard. This is what I enjoy doing most in my spare time. And even better, my children and grandchildren all love to ride and have taken an interest in the sport itself. Being a family person, this makes me very happy.
