She offers each of her clients an abundance of expertly planning knowledge with a wide-range list of event professionals. Best known for her Southern Hospitality and Charm, Sandy can authentically provide each of her clients with a concierge-style of luxury planning. Her love for design in fashion, architect, and style inspires her to give her clients the desired outcome for their event.
Sandy enjoys giving back to the community & has been one of the Shop Small Champion for Small Business Saturday backed by American Express since 2015. She was also the Brand Ambassador for Brides Against Breast Cancer in 2017 and has participated in Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk for several years. Not only does she support her local community, but she also supports her peers in the event industry. Sandy is a member of the ILEA (International Live Events Association) Atlanta Chapter & has served on the board in many different roles and is currently serving as the ILEA Atlanta Chapter President.
Q: What three books can you recommend on leadership and why?
The 21 Indispensable Qualities of A Leader by John C. Maxwell, The Slight Edge by Jeff Olson, and Start With Why by Simon Sinek. The reason I recommend these three books, is because they all have one main thing in common and that is understanding how to successfully lead others and helping them to understand your WHY. Good leaders will lead with purpose, but when you understand how to be a great leader, you will lead with your WHY.

Q: How do you continue to grow and develop as a leader?
The very first job I ever had, the manager told me, “If you want to continue to grow in anything you do, keep learning”. I was 16 years old when I was told that, and it has stuck with me until this day. Because I took the advice of my first manager, I made sure that I continued to learn new things and expand on the things that I have already learned. Each year I invest in my education by attending conferences, workshops, webinars, etc… Also, being a member of the International Live Events Association and a board member of the Atlanta chapter has allowed me to evolve in my industry as a leader as well as grow my business.

Q: How do you make room for continuing to learn while leading?
The way I make room to continue to learn while leading is by making sure that I block time off of my calendar each day. At the beginning of each week, I take time to review my calendar to see what appointments or consultations I may have for the week. After reviewing my week, I make sure that I add in 30 minutes each day on my calendar to devote to learning. Although, some days I may go over my 30 minutes of learning, I make an intentional effort to focus for at least that long, especially on days that may be more productive than others.

Q: What one thing that makes you most proud?
The one thing that makes me the most proud is that I am the mother of five wonderful children! Yes, they have their days when they can work my nerves, but I am pretty sure my parents can say the same. I think being blessed with 5 children has also given me the gift of being able to respond to different personalities at any given time as a leader and planner in the event industry.

Q: Where are your favorite places to visit in Atlanta and why?
I don’t have too many places that I can say are my favorite places to visit in Atlanta, but if there is one place that I would say is my favorite, it would be the High Museum. I love art and how anything can be transformed into art! Art can teach you history in a fun way, but it can also help you think outside of the box. When I am planning events or creating different design concepts for events, I turn to art for inspiration. It really gets my creative juices flowing.

Q: What is something you wish someone had told you during your career journey?
I wish that someone would have been honest enough to share with me earlier in my career as a business owner that you will have more failures than successes. I think I would have been a little more prepared for the stumbles along the way.

The most important risk I took was to become a full-time wedding and event planner 9 years ago. As an entrepreneur/business owner, you wear so many hats in the beginning, and sometimes it can be overwhelming creating roadblocks mentally. If you are committed you learn how to manage your time, celebrate your small wins, get back up when you fail, and continue to become that rock star in your niche.
