I was never a sports fan but midyear last year, I became a subscriber to Kobe Bryant's Black Mamba Mentality strategies & his intellectual insights on how he tackled sports, life & business. I became an avid fan and a zealous student as I began to follow his journey as an entrepreneur. Every day, I read & listened to his interviews & he became a part of my daily routine. I am always eager to learn & understand his striking confidence, his wisdom & his unapologetic methods of championing a victorious game.
Through his speaking engagements & interviews, he turned out to be a constant source of fire, an inspiration and a virtual mentor. He evangelized how to learn from our failures, how to outwork our potential, & how to unveil the art to greatness with a ferocious & systematic approach to have the “Black Mamba” state of mind, a nickname he gave himself referencing the snake’s agility and aggressiveness inspired by Quentin Tarantino’s movie, Kill Bill.
His curiosity, determination, love & passion for the game on and off court & his unwavering drive to propel his new vision as an entrepreneur by having multiple business engagements and most recently he became a Storyteller with the launch of Granity Studios, a new media company that focuses on creative storytelling around sports through art and creativity was another epic story for us to behold.
Kobe was revered & loved by his die hard fans. He was a family man, an educator, an investor, a business man with an empire, a philanthropist, a legend, & one of the greatest icons in sports history. His imagination, his lessons, his discipline, his relentless commitment to pursue & master his craft was unparalleled. Kobe maybe gone too soon but his legacy will continue to profoundly mark an unshakeable & irrefutable impact. #8 #24. Rest in peace Kobe & Gigi. Praying for comfort, peace and a heartfelt condolence to his beautiful wife Vanessa, his children, the Bryant family and the families affected by this unthinkable tragedy.
