Charity Involvement - Still deciding on a consistent charity, but we have donated goods and services to some including Radiant Faces, and Make a Wish. Lavender has also donated products to cheer programs and athletes across the country to promote beauty and self-esteem amongst young women.

Lavender is a line of premium false eyelashes! They are reusable, and created on a cotton band which makes them ultra-comfortable for athletic or long-wear. Our line is primarily geared toward the cheer and dance market, but also has a place in special occasion including bridal, formal events, and film/photography.

What inspired you to start your own business? I've always admired entrepreneurs and the sense of freedom that comes with owning your own company. I had a single light-bulb moment several years ago while I was working a make-up job, and realized that all of the decisions and life experiences I've had up to that point aligned with this particular business opportunity - premium, reusable false eyelashes! I could combine many things I love; Cheerleading, Beauty, loving others, into one thing - Lavender!

Who are your ideal clients? Lavender's largest market is Cheerleading, particularly female athletes between the ages of 12-18. We have also had a lot of success in bridal, special occasion, and even everyday lash lovers!
Given the economic conditions, health crisis, and the mandatory temporarily closing of thousands of businesses, how are you coping with the pandemic & how have you shifted to help service your customers? We have taken a little bit of a hit with business because a large portion of our revenue comes from our "Lavender Lash Bars" at cheerleading events, which is a pop-up style of sales. Since all of the major cheer and dance events have been cancelled, we haven't had the opportunity to meet new customers face-to-face. Fortunately we do still have some sales coming in via our website, so Lavender has been able to maintain at least a little bit of normalcy during these tricky times. We're so grateful for our loyal customers!

Are there new products or new service offerings as the result of the shift? If so what are they and what solutions do they offer? Lavender is experimenting with more web-based content like Instagram Live to build more of a relationship with our customers via tutorials, beauty Q&A, etc. We have also done contests and giveaways on social media to create excitement and engage our current following.

As a business owner and faced with a sudden calamity, what new revelations did you discover and will likely implement to catastrophic proof your business? I feel like Lavender has always operated in a very fiscally responsible manner, so if anything it reinforces the mindset I had when starting the company - "Cash is King!" I don't carry any business debt, and our overhead is very low. Even during these lower income months, we are able to maintain the business without going into crisis mode.
