ABOUT CRAFTED COMPANY
The Crafted Company is a color enthused floral and event design business based out of Atlanta, Ga. We love to create unique and aesthetically pleasing designs for events or spaces of all kinds. We also do daily, floral compositions available for pickup and delivery. Our largest weekly inventory of blooms is featured at The Front Porch Market, in the heart of downtown Vinings. These include arrangements, wrap up bouquets, and orchid compositions. We pride ourselves on the quality of the product we put out and also our ability to stay agile to our Atlanta community. We love the challenge to create whatever your imagination can possibly think of and exceed expectations by pushing the southern normalities of flowering.

What inspired you to start your own business? I’ve always wanted to be my own boss. After working with fellow floral designers for almost 5 years, I took a leap of faith to allow me to make my own dreams come true. Growing up around entrepreneurs, I set out to serve as a younger example to my peers that you’re capable of doing whatever you set your mind to. Now, it is always challenging, and it will test your faith in yourself from time to time; BUT, if you aren’t able to challenge yourself and push your own boundaries of what is comfortable, then you’re never truly growing. You will surprise yourself; you will surprise others… but most importantly, you are sharing your gifts with the world and there is so much beauty in that.

Who are your ideal clients? My ideal clients are those who appreciate different and out of the box designs. I love to work with dried and fresh products. The texture is very important in my designs and color is a staple for me. I love to interact and hear your ideas of what you think is pleasing to the eye so being able to properly communicate with examples of other work you’ve seen is so helpful! I also think understanding that every floral designer is going to have a different approach to a project is key. Everyone interprets work differently, so being able to appreciate the differences is very important in getting the most out of your composition.

Given the economic condition, health crisis, and the mandatory temporary closing of thousands of businesses, how are you coping with the pandemic & how have you shifted to help service your customers? In building my community over the past year, I feel extremely blessed because they give me constant support and it is so appreciated. I couldn’t do what I do, without any of you. So many, many thanks! Opening delivery options has greatly helped as well and we are really trying to become as accessible online as possible. This time has allowed me to work on some projects I wasn’t able to previously give time to, such as branding. So we are super excited to see the outcome of the time being put into building The Crafted Company as a brand!

Are there new products or new service offerings as the result of the shift? If so, what are they and what solutions do they offer? Deliveries more than anything has been our biggest change, as well as creating more wrap up bouquets rather than arrangements. We love that you are able to take our work and use them in vessels that work best for your home or are simply your favorite! We really hope this trend continues past the pandemic.

As a business owner and faced with a sudden calamity, what new revelations did you discover and will likely implement to catastrophic proof your business? The biggest change we’ve seen has been through pivoting to digital sales. We’ve done everything from online purchases to virtual flowering workshops just to get a better understanding of what our community is wanting during these hard times. It’s taught us to put our branding and information on every composition to push customers to share content with not only friends and family but our Instagram as well.

When the dust settles what will be the first thing that you'll do and why? I really miss being able to connect with people, it has been a bit of a challenge to do everything at a distance. When this is all over and done, I think I truly would really like to just have a get-together at my parents’ home in South Ga & really just hug everyone I love really tight. I miss the intimate side of being able to work closely with others the create something beautiful and amazing.
